Mark your calendars now and plan to break the fast with your Temple community immediately following concluding services. This has become a Temple tradition and is enjoyed by all who participate. The Study Hour will be facilitated by Professor Dan Cornfield, Sociology Professor at Vanderbilt University. We hope you will plan to add these special events to your High Holy Day schedule!
Last year, men of The Temple had several fun events, including meeting the Titans' coaches, attending a film about Israeli Baseball at the Jewish Film Festival, and viewing the new Coen brothers movie, "A Serious Man," followed by discussion with Rabbi Schiftan. Please Join fellow men of the congregation, and help plan the brotherhood events you would enjoy for the coming year.

This special musical Kabbalat Shabbat service will include Simchat Torah festivities. The 8th grade Religious School Students will also be honored. Congregants are invited to participate in the Nashville AIDS Walk, which mobilizes people of all ages to help fight HIV/AIDS locally. Proceeds from the Walk benefit Nashville Cares, Middle Tennessee's leading HIV/AIDS prevention and social services agency. Nashville Cares has historically received Temple Social Action allocations, and The Temple has sponsored a team in past years. "A Patient's Deception: FDR's Last Year." Guest speaker will be Dr. Mark Wait, Martha Rivers Ingram Chair and Professor of Music at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University. In addition to Professor Wait's musical accomplishments, he is also a history buff and his research on some of our presidents will amaze and enlighten you.
