"Holocaust" Miniseries Screening
We are filled with excitement to announce our very first Temple Videothon! Throughout the month of July, we will be showcasing the powerful miniseries The Holocaust, which aired in April 1978, featuring Meryl Streep, James Woods, and Michael Moriarty.
Join us each Tuesday beginning July 1st at 3:30 p.m. (or after Lunch with Rabbi each Thursday starting July 3rd at 1:30 p.m.) to watch the episodes together at the Temple. For those unable to attend in person, don’t worry! The miniseries is also available on YouTube, and we will happily provide links upon request.
We are excited to offer discussion groups following the first and last episodes, July 1st and 29th, allowing us to reflect and share our thoughts together. As noted by Peter Novick in his book The Holocaust in American Life, the original miniseries marked a significant moment in American consciousness, reaching close to 100 million viewers and imparting crucial historical insights. It imparted more information about the Holocaust to Americans than ever told in preceding years.
